Red painted the battlefield as the girl walked amongst the bodies of the fallen. Before, she would not have felt remorse for those she killed, but now…now as she looked at what she’s done, she felt nothing but sadness.
“Sophita is sorry, Casshern,” said the pink-haired girl.
She remembered when she first met the immortal android and wanted nothing more than to fight him forever as that would have given her a true purpose in this world of ruin. But there was no fire in Casshern’s heart, only sadness, and that made Sophita feel sadness in turn. It allowed Sophita for the first time to see what the world was truly like.
Sophita looked up at the night sky, hoping Casshern was watching the same stars that she was. “Is Casshern still sad. Sophita hopes not. Sophita wants Casshern to be happy. Someone like Casshern deserves to be happy.”
The Angel of Ruin continued on in hopes that she might one day run into the man
